Uttara Saud, 14, during her ?Chaupadi? practice, sits inside the shed where she will spend most of her days and night until her mensuration ends in the hills of Legudsen Village at Achham District, considered as one of the most remote districts in far western region of Nepal February 16, 2014. When women go through their mensuration they are treated as untouchable and impure, the ?Chaupadi? practice includes women sleeping in the shed, abandoning them from entering their homes, stopping them from taking part in any social activities, cannot fill water from the public taps or water sources, cannot go to the temple or pass by one, cannot touch the livestock and even the food is server outside the house without touching them or their dishes no matter how cold or hot it is outside.
